Site Update

I found a few spare minutes and updated my new old site. I know I really need more photos on there, but if you have any feedback on the layout, navigation, etc. that'd be great too!

Illustration Friday: "Snap Shot"

A co-worker recently introduced me to this blog called "Illustration Friday" that gives insentive for productivity.

"Illustration Friday is a weekly illustration challenge. A topic is posted every Friday and then participants have all week to come up with their own interpretation."

Then you're supposed to link your illustration for that week and let viewers check it out and comment, and people network, and get jobs through it. I saw it as a fun excuse to be productive in my illustration. The theme this week was "Snap" so heres my first attempt intitled "Snap Shot", deciding on colors was by far the most difficult part.

PS> So I picked up an issue of Juxtapoz yesturday and saw that they have featured like 4-5 of the artists we've put on the Blog recently, and they even used the same sample peices from each artist that we used. Maybe they've been checking The Abominable Art blog for artists and stories. We should be getting some money from them. In anycase, good job gang, we're professional level bloggers. (as far as noting and posting new top talent)

One of my professors just introduced me to the super creative work of Chema Madoz. I love his use of extremely ordinary objects to create something new.

Not only is the FLASH site alone a beautiful work of art, but his photos are super inthralling. To navigate, click the small side arrow on the right of each photo. I don't often post up Photo sites, but I should more often, there is some amazing stuff going on with photography these days.

Sewing with the Wife

Me and Abbey made these bibs together with her new sewing machine. Sewing is actually super fun and has lots of possibilities. Sewing a steady solid stitch is alot harder than you'd think. I admire my sewing friends.
