I'm diggin' the new backgrounds man. How are you putting color in, particularly for the background? Leave feedback for my feedback.

I just erase all the whites on the scanned line art, so then its basically just the dark lines

then I build an under layer of a background color of choice

then I refure back to the line layer, select regions to "fill" with other colors, and do each fill on another layer above my background layer, then by tweeking the transparancy of each layer above the backgound color, it allows that background color to show through those colors thus unifying the colors palette of the work.

it sounds crazy to explain in type, I'll show you sometime, but does it make any sense?

I just got out a workshop by th digital artist Joshua Davis and he showed us some cool ways of working with color, I'll show you that to.

Yes please show me as that sounds confusing. I've been working a lot in illustrator lately but don't know how to add color like that. Show me show me show me how you do that trick.
